Compared to previous generations the Gen Zer’s (born between 1981 and 1996) have been found to be more isolated and distant from their peers.
The cause?
Lots of suggestions and low hanging fruit to blame (social media, smart phones, etc).
Why The Lonely Athlete Generation?
I think there’s more to it.
That maybe the Gen Zer’s, especially the athletes, are waiting for the right community.
A welcoming one, in which they fit.
Feel comfortable.
Able to grow in.
Maybe, like that shopper who squeezes every piece of fruit till the right one is found, they are picky.
I don’t believe they want to be the lonely athlete generation.
And maybe as a coach and recruiter, this is something to consider as you create and build your team.
